Paddling the River's Invitation

to dip a basket of worms
into the river's appetite:
yesandno the broken paddles noandyes
will fill the last canoe with a dirge

rivers oh shivers
for those that sank to the bottom & rose nomore
yes an invitation no a slaughter
(reason can slaughter too)
so I search the ripples & the waves
for a furious handwriting
